Function details

As a Sales Engineer you will have extensive contact with customers and suppliers, you know how to convince customers like no other, you will bring our added value to the customer and you will be the business card of Verhofsté.
You can manage an effective network of existing customers and build new customers. The latter come in through spontaneous leads or are brought in by the Business Development Manager. Thanks to your experience and sales skills, you identify customer needs and convert them into sales opportunities.
You strive to guide the customer as much as possible and to deliver an appropriate and well-founded offer. You work out the quotation from the beginning and use the available calculation tools.
Together with your colleagues from the sales department you are responsible for the realization of the set targets.
You report directly to the Sales Manager.
  • You build an extensive technical knowledge of materials that occur within our product groups.
  • You analyze the needs of existing and new customers and convert these into sales opportunities.
  • You work out and check bills of quantities based on (architectural) plans and translate them into our way of working.
  • You work out an appropriate and well-founded quotation from the outset and you get to work with the available calculation tools.
  • You defend the quotation to the client and strive for maximum conversion.
  • You build a lasting relationship with the customer as a 'Solution Seller': you take on an advisory role towards the customer.
  • You process your daily results correctly in our management system.
  • You lead the sales process in the right direction from A-Z: from the first contact about the needs analysis, the translation to a quotation, the closing, the contract handling to the briefing to the project management.

Your profile

  • Diploma in industrial engineering or equivalent through experience
  • You have at least 3 years of experience in a technical commercial B2B environment, preferably in a similar industry (engineering and metal).
  • Professionalism, enthusiasm and reliability characterize your behavior and sales style.
  • You are entrepreneurial, independent and result-oriented.
  • You think customer-oriented, future-oriented and like to take initiative.
  • You closely follow the latest trends within our sector.
  • You have a perfect knowledge of Dutch and can express yourself fluently in French.
